The Birthing-Center Pvt. Ltd was founded by three Germans; Corinna and Peter Stahlhofen and Berit Fehse in 2001. It took us one year to complete the official formalities and to prepare with our family to come to Goa were we will start working in November 2002.

births as an independent midwife. Since 2002 I live and work at our Birthing

My
name is Naveena Goffer, and I was born in 1972 in Israel.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science Midwifery from the Auckland
University of Technology in New Zealand. During my practice I have worked in different settings, with diverse and international communities, both in hospital and in independent practice in the community providing continuity of care. I had great experiences of home birth, water birth, as well as being with women during their complicated birth experiences. I am deeply inspired and passionate about midwifery and childbirth, I enjoy being with women and their families, and I feel privileged watching the magical and deep personal process involved in their journeys. I am committed to promote natural, holistic and low intervention care for women wherever possible, while being vigilant in recognizing risks and acting promptly and responsibly to achieve safety and well-being to both mother and baby. I guide my practice by following up to date research and the latest evidence-based best practice. Prior to midwifery I studied bodywork therapies and healing, including Thai massage, Cranio-Sacral training, Joint Release body therapy and personal development. I worked and taught bodywork while traveling with my husband, the composer Chinmaya Dunster (www.fragranceoftheeast.org), and while living in India and Hawaii (Maui). I’m a meditator and frequent guest at the Osho International Resort in Pune.
My name is Peter Stahlhofen, I was born in 1962,
married
to Corinna and father of her daughters. Until we moved to India I was
working for about 15 years as a manager in the music industry. None
of my friends and business partners was surprised when they learned
that I decided to live in India. They know that I have fallen in love
with that country since I went to India first in 1993. It is always
the same question I get asked. What are YOU doing in a birthing center?
The answer is as simple as easy: In my opinion the work of a midwife
is the work of a real artist. It is sensitive, creative, they need a
general knowledge as well as the gift to listen to the inner self and
to the becoming mother and her child (Miles Davis would call it improvisation
at the best). My experience with all the artists taught me that they
all need someone who is looking after the "simple" things
of life. One may call it manager, coach or whatever and this is what
I will do in the birthing center, managing the "simple" things.
And if desired, I may have some practical tips for the becoming fathers.

employees, Shivaji Namdev God from Assagao
and Kashi Sagar Satelkar from Apora are taking care for housekeeping,
