The Birthing Center is located in Assagao, a quiet and well laid out village of about 3500 people, situated between Mapuca (Mapusa) and Anjuna Beach in the district of Bardez in Goa`s north. Flights Direct to Goa There are direct holiday charter flights from the UK (Manchester and Gatwick), Scandinavia, Holland and Germany. These flights are operated by several European airlines. Flying time is approximately 10 1/2 hours. Some planes also fly non-stop from the UK which has reduced the flying time to 9 hrs. Via Mumbai & Delhi Scheduled flights to Mumbai, Delhi and Madras are operated by most international carriers, (normally via their 'home' base) and depart from nearly all international airports. There are several options for your onward journey to Goa. 3 or 4 domestic carriers operate daily flights with as many as 6 planes a day from Mumbai. Goa is only 1 hour from Mumbai and 3½ from Delhi. By Rail The Konkan railway is now fully operational and runs the length of the coast from Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram. It connects Goa to the rest of the Indian railway network and has thus shortened journey. Mumbai to Goa is now 10 hours and Goa to Delhi is 22 hours by fast express trains. The East and the West. Konkan Railway stops at Pernem, Karmali, Thivim, Madgaon, and Canacona. Bus/Coaches Every town and city in India is connected by bus and luxury coach. Tickets can be bought from Travel Agents located around the bus stations, prices are quite low. Road Goa is connected by road with Bombay, Bangalore, Mangalore, Pune. The National Highways linking Goa are NH-4A, NH-17 and Nh-17A. From Mapusa town, the road U-turn's uphill and descending from the pass at a small plateau, where it splits into two. The CASA MAIEUTICA is situated one the smaller one that leads westwards to Badem.
