| Birthing
of Felix Kahn
Adventure holidays have been in vogue for quite a while, and although
hiking in the Himalaya or mountain biking in the Alps might be most
people's cup of tea.
We can highly recommend child-bearing in Goa as a different and exciting
way to spend the winter months- although of course it depends largely
on getting pregnant at the right time of year.
So
it was made possible that young Felix Jamilievic Khan could enter the
world in a beautiful house, instead of a hospital, safe in the care
of Corinna and Sarah's expert and dedicated hands. As a place to spend
the first couple of months life, with it's warmth and fresh air, Goa
is second to none- something that Felix clearly understood as he spent
little more than an hour and a half making his stress-free entry into
the world at about 3.30 am in the water pool- we were all tucked up
in bed at home by sunrise the same day; a priceless memory.
Corinna
and Sarah did so much for us it is hard to put it into words- from the
pre-natal preparation to the birth itself and beyond- they answered
every little question, no matter how silly, visited our house every
day after the birth, and kept visiting, showing us how to do everything,
supporting us, relaxing us and most importantly filled us with confidence.
The
atmosphere, attitude and methods of the Birthing Centre are so far away
from the unnatural insipid, institutionalized and impersonal medical
approaches available in our home city, Moscow, it now seems absurd that
anyone should choose to give birth in a European hospital with such
a beautiful, calm and relaxed alternative available.
“Thank
you” to Corinna and Sarah for the best winter of our lives and
for helping Felix to get off to such a splendid start!
